On January 15th, 1947 A resident of Leimet Park area of Los Angeles found a body on the side of an empty lot. The body was cut in half, had other cuts as well, gutted and drained of blood. According to the chief of the crime lab, the body was dumped before dawn. The body was identified as Elizabeth Short, by running her finger prints. She had been dead for nearly 10 hours. She died at the age of 22.
What was weird about this case is how the body was taken to a new location and set in a pose. Why would the murder leave the body at the actual crime scene where it took place? What was the reason behind of gutting out her guts and draining the blood? What is confusing the most is how her body was dumped at the crack of dawn. That is the time where most people take their dog for a walk, go for a work or even go to work.
